Ferns need high humidity...unless you have a humidifer in your house they are
unlikely to survive there. I would suggest Cacti, Succulents, and hardy plants
like Pothos and Wandering Jew. What are the lighting conditions in your house?
Most houseplants need medium to bright light but not direct sunlight. Hope
