Deer are not phased by Poncirus. They have been keeping mine pruned for a few years now.

Mmmmm. That's quite attractive. I once thought of the Poncirus as a booby trap for the throngs of deer hereabouts, but never followed through.MariaThe orange requires full sun. The mahonia, M bealei, is full sun to light shade. The Eleutherococcus I mentioned has thorns and takes part to full shade and I have an opportunity for several so I might create a hedge in front of the the privacy fence. Ornamental and vicious. <g>MariaIf leatherleaf mahonia will grow there, that is the sharpest, pickieststuff. I planted one between me and the imbeciles next door to stop thefoot traffic.--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
