We finally got some rain last night - about an inch and a half. A lot of it rolled off because the soil was so dry it was repelling water, but at least it's something, and some of the soil cracks are closing.
I've been hauling hoses and buckets until my knees wake me up every night. Poor Bill would have had to deal with that, too next week while I'm gone.
