You all make me miss my gardens so much more!  Four years ago we sold our 2+ acres and gave away most of our belongings.  If the kids didn't want it we decided we didn't want to drag it with us.  We rented a nice furnished duplex in Rockport, Tx and loved it.  Then we got the itch to have a house again.  We bought a house that had to have the kitchen totally remodeled!!!  I did enjoy planing and planting the 1+ acres of lawn and way too many live oak trees( 50+) !  We sold that as soon as we finished and moved to Houston for Husband to go back to work for company downtown, we rented a small apartment overlooking the Buffalo Bayou!  We rode bikes all the time down the wonderful bike trails and I loved watching the plantings changing all the time.  Then they sent him to Atlanta and we lived on Lake Lanier in a rental.  Lots of poison ivy kept me from doing much there.  The next move took us to Golden, Co.  A dream of ours to live in Colorado!  We rented a wonderful condo on Clear Creek where we could ride bikes up and down the creek!  I bought a few plants for the patio!  May 1 we moved into a 40' Holiday Rambler, (my in laws 1996).  We are learning that there is a lot to learn about a big RV!  
I do miss my garden, but we are in Canton, Ga where my daughter has a wonderful yard with gardenias blooming and blueberries just ripening.  I have enjoyed going to buy plants with her and getting to dig in the dirt again.  We won't stay much longer though so I love reading what you all are doing!!!

I get special joy from some simple plants that spark memories for me or that I worked so hard to grow from seed- and are now plentiful. One I smile at every spring is a little primrose Marge(?) sent me. I never had any success with them and she told me these would thrive. And they are still here after all these years.

That's an excellent list as well, Kitty!

There are a lot of my wish list items in there, as well as a handful of things that I tried but killed.  :)

My plants this year aren't as exotic lately as in the past -- I'm trying to fill in some holes with budget constraints and using plants that I won't mind losing too much.  Over time I plan to replace things with more specialized items.

Of course, some of the more common plants are also the most beautiful, so who knows?  :)
