RE: Spring has sprung y'all

Thanks, Pam. I too enjoyed the tour. I'm so glad the only things in bloom
are the iris reticulate and the crocus in the yard as we woke up to 18 F
weather this a.m. If we are lucky, we'll hit a sunny 33 F high at 3 this
afternoon. (Yup--Midwest for certain.)

The last semi-warm day, I did get out into the potting soil barrel and
filled a few pots. It truly did invigorate me to run my hands through it.
And now that Ceres and Melody mention it, when I go for fabric to sew
something, I do sort of caress good fabric--especially the satins I use to
line Santa's jacket and the panne I use for Santa's suit and Mrs. Claus'
dress. (It's all washable, since we deal with children during the season.)
Children are very sensual individuals who love the feel of Santa's soft
clothing and Mrs. Claus' gowns. Perhaps I never fully grew up and if so, I
hope I never grow too old to enjoy fabrics and soil.

Have a great morning all!

Blessings,
Bonnie

Ceres: That's right...something about the sensual feel of both good soil
and good fabric that literally rubs my senses the right way! It's a
funny thing to watch quilters in a fabric store, caressing bolts of
fabrics with both hands and obviously half dazed with the sensation...I
see the same thing on the faces of true gardeners when they are out
working in their yards! What a delight to be both someone who gardens
and someone who quilts...

loved your descriptive walk in your garden. We are cold and oh so windy
today and very cold tonight but the greenhouse provides the lift for

(blooms are snipped
to promote more growth) and the first on the
list each morning is to head for
the tubs and run your hands thru
the soil. What a high! Like fondling
fabric, right Melody? Only
gardeners and quilters understand.
