Several reasons. It's native and requires little supplemental watering, it
has the nicest natural shape and the very best fall color - deep burgandy
leaves - of anything in the yard. Gives good shade too once it leafs
out. Very fond of this little tree. When I first met Jesse face to face I
was clearing out that very bed (Dec 99) and finally - it will flower (and
berry). I am pleased.
