It wasn't an email, Donna. It was one of those "updates are available" things that pop up on your screen when you turn on your computer.

Although I don't use AVG, I NEVER use a link in an email to download anything! You just never know if it is real or someone out to get you. Things can be easily made to look like the real thing.I would go to the site via another way- if you know the URL for the main siteand type it in. Safer to download that way.
