Re: Wow

Amazing! I talked with our Hort Ed extension agent the other day and he said he's had at least 50 calls this month that would normally be handled by MGs in Phone Response. However, our PR program doesn't start until next month because traditionally, that's when the calls start coming. It's been a relatively warmish March and people are getting out and starting early.

I'm trying to clean up the garage and then pot up some lily bulbs and Mirabilis tubers. I'm planning on mixing soil so I'll have it ready when I strt digging in a week or so. Getting in to high gear here!

Sure been quiet.

Did my first 4 hours on the Master Gardener desk yesterday. Slow day
there, too--about seven phone calls and only two walk-ins. Issues de
jour seemed to be carpenter ants--hint: they're swarming now--and
fertilizing blueberries. Also got a couple of calls about our plant
sale: when? [first Saturday in May]; will we have heirloom tomatoes?
[about 40 varieties].

Kinda boring, so I read through the log to see what kind of calls
other shifts had gotten [mostly carpenter ants and blueberries] but
about a week ago someone called in for information on grafting figs.
Wish I'd gotten that call; it would've been fun.
