Re: caladiums

a 6 inch pot from the nursery usually has three 3 corms--and by the time the season really gets here, they are overgrown. caladiums are very forgiving, however; you can probably plant as many as you want in a pot. but if you plant a lot, you'll be watering them hourly in august.

i only have one growing in a pot. last year i planted a 3-corm 6-inch pot nursery buy in a 12 inch pot. they have just started to come back, so it's a bit early to tell how crowded or not they will be this year. i suspect they will be good for another year or two in that pot. then i'll divide them and start over.

I was just thinking it was safe to plant my caladiums when we got a snow
shower on Saturday. Piled up an inch of slush in 20 minutes, then melted off
within an hour. Temps went from 60-70 to 30-40 over the same few minutes.
Warmer every day so maybe I can plant them this weekend.
Jim, I haven't grown these before. How many corms per 15 inch pot would you
recomend(sp?)?
