Theresa's Shaving Brush

I asked Jim about the Shaving Brush and he sent this:

"Not sure. There's a "shaving brush" tree--one of the bombax-kapok--but that
may not be what she has in mind [Pseudobombax ellipticum]. Here's a picture
of the flower I cribbed from the web. There's another variety that has a
pink flower--same genus and species. Trees get huge; the one at Selby, which
is the pink sort, must be 60 feet in its stocking feet."
