Might cause more trouble for quilting as that is such fine delicate work
compared to gardening. My paternal grandmother had it too, went blind in
later life. My father and I have been tested and have thankfully tested
negative. My brother is taking the ostrich approach fro the time being.

You have shared your conditions w/ me and they are on my list and will
stay there. Having been legally blind since seven or eight, I've always
appreciated my sight. It's not perfect, even corrected, but I can
garden, get around and go to work. So that's a blessing indeed!! I pray
your conditions remain asymptomatic, which is also a blessing.
