I'm zone 7a, and before the warming was microclimatically 6. I know of another bay that's flourishing and is about the same size. Interestingly, its leaves are much larger than mine. 

I think I got mine from Wayside.

I could send cuttings next year if anyone would like.

Bay is hardy there? I never planted one because I didn't think they were 
hardy in zone 8A.   Hmm, I put something else in that spot of course (a
small viburnum) but may have to rethink the bay idea Daryl!  Thanks.
