Wish I did, too. She was such an odd creature. We got her from a

county

shelter. When we toured the shelter, she was in a top-tier cage. The
attendant said she was about a year old and feral, but she was so
pretty--solid black with a white bow tie--that we wanted a closer

look.

When the attendant opened the cage to take her out, she leaped over

the

attendant and landed on my head. Ms Fatma said, "Well, I see your cat
has found you." So we took her home.

I love them at that age. When we first got Beans, we lived in a
condo, which had an up-tight policy about pets running loose in the
hallways. Beans intuitively understood this policy and set out to
challenge it at every opportunity. It reached the point where I had
to lock her in the bathroom just to retrieve the morning paper.

But when she did escape--which was often, much to my
consternation--she would race down the hall to the elevators and sit



there somewhat patiently for one of them to open and take her to
freedom. For my part, I would cinch up my robe, yell to Ms Fatma

that

I was chasing "that cat" [lest I got locked out], grab my water gun,



and trudge down the hall after Beans. When she would see me--with

the

water gun--she would race back to our apartment door, which Ms Fatma



was usually holding open.

And as she raced back, she ran as fast as she possibly could, so
fast, in fact, the her longer hind legs overtook her shorter front
legs, and by the time she got to our apartment door, she was ether
running sideways or backwards. Funniest thing I've ever seen.

Little
Bit hasn't learned "no hooks" yet.  I'll be glad when she does.  I
was
cleaning the litter box the other day and was bent over scooping.
She
decided she wanted my attention at that exact second so she jumped

up

and
planted both sets of front claws in my backside.  She took off
running
when
I yelped, so MAYBE we won't do that again.  Believe or not, I
managed to
not
drop the scoop.  Lord knows how.  I will be very happy when she

grows

up.
The kitten "thing" is very cute and amusing and all, but there's a
lot
to be
said for a cat that is more settled and calm.  I'm just not used to



that
level of activity.  Thought you cat people would get a kick out of
that
anecdote however.
