I'm sure this sounds really stupid, but I'm going to continue anyway.
I've had some of your problems with peonies, and I solved the
hail,rainstorm,beat the petals off the plants thing by erecting a temporary
hoop-house over my peonies, 2 one-plant-wide beds each about 60 feet long.
This project took about a half day the first time, and just a couple hours
the next 8 times.
Gonna have to change some, because I'm dividing them this fall, and if I
replant all the divisions, the beds will increase at least four-fold. Sooo
I'm gonna be in the rather unenviable position of having a surplus of
tubers, any takers?
BTW they are pink with white centers and doubles.
