Repeat applications of Glyphosate will kill Bermudagrass. Hit it, wait a couple of weeks, water and wait for it to resprout, hit it again. Wait, etc. 3-4 applications will do it. The bad news (worse news?) is that if it has seeded, the first warm, wet spell next year will have seedlings popping up. Crabgrass preventer can help.

Covering in plastic does not help. I had my Dad's old pool liner on my driveway to hold a truckload of wood chips. @#% bermudagrass crept 20+ feet underneath it and came up on the other side.
