I'm so glad you came through this ok. My friend's husband just had knee surgery Tuesday and he will finally get out of the hospital today if all goes well. I don't understand all the details, but she wrote, "his intestinal system objected to the abuse of surgery and drugs and decided to stage a revolt. Gabe has had a miserable 36 hours putting down the stomach rebellion, A GI specialist was called in and Intravenous fluids were restarted, as of 9 this evening after some very interesting side effects of new drugs the nausea and dizziness has subsided."
Then last night she filled us in on some of the side effects. The staff called her in at 1am because Gabe had had a nightmare or something and had ripped out the IV lines and whatever was on his knees and walked down the hall without his walker. She had to go in and "lay on top of him the rest of the night" so he would stay in bed as they were too short staffed to keep an eye on him. She added that, so far, the hospital bill was over $105,000 which doesn't include doctors' bills. Fortunately, with the new insurance plan she had opted for, their share of everything is only $600.

I made it through and the first night is over. If I can just get used to using crutches this won't be too bad. They gave me a machine that I am suppose to get on every 2 hours for 2 hours. Today I go to the physical therapist to have the drain tube taken out and an ice bladder put on that will circulate ice water around my knee constantly.
I had gone out and taken 120 pictures of my gardens so that while I am down I can still get to the computer to look at them.
We have had wonderful weather for quite awhile so I had time to get almost everything caught up. I had dwarf Alberta spruces in to huge pots by my garage. They had gotten so big that I moved them to other places in the yard and replaced them with "Gold Cone" Junipers. Has anyone ever grown this variety?
