A fountain of any sort is great for cats with water issues. Jack used to throw water all over the kitchen and Seamus would only drink water off wet leaves. Pam uses a fountain and I use the Catit Fountain
http://tinyurl.com/22to4y which has solved my problems. As to food, I suspect the urpin' renewal project at your house is caused by eating too fast rather than a sensitive stomach. Like Judy said, I'd feed small amounts at a time, many times a day. Eventually he'll realize there will be more coming and he may not feel he has to eat everything in sight. It can be a hassle, but it could work.

Those of you who raise cats might be able to help my sister. She has taken on a young, declawed (awlful thing to do) cat who gobbles down food and then throws it up. It will only drink from a running faucet. She wants to get it to drink from a bowl and be able to eat without being sick. It has been to the vet and has gotten its shots.-----Original Message-----From: Jesse Bell <silverhawk@flash.net> Sent: Sep 18, 2007 9:21 AM To: gardenchat@hort.net Subject: Re: [CHAT] PercyI had a cat that used to do the same thing...and one day she fell in the bubble bath and she came UNGLUED, started clawing all over the place to get out. The crate he is in is huge, and there is room for hisbed, his food and water and a small litter box. The vet agreed that itwould be a good idea to leave him in there until the stitches are removed on the 27th. I just don't want to run the risk of his sustaining an injury. All his friends are visiting through the bars. Incidentally, I have put a heavy throw over the top so nobody else gets a leg caught. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jesse Bell" To: Sent: Monday, September 17, 2007 2:17 PM Subject: RE: [CHAT] PercyMe too....ya'll have been on my mind a lot. She suggested I try to slowlyreintroduce him to the colony since he is now "different." You shouldhave seen the look on his face with his blue Elizabethan collar in place. I must say I was thoroughly cursed by him. At any rate I have put him in Otis's huge (and now unused) crate with his own food, water and litter box. He is in the middle of all the other cats, but nobody can bother him until he is a little more sure of himself. I'll probably keep him corralled until his stitches and collar come off in two weeks. I'm going to give him his antibiotic and pain medicine now. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jesse Bell" To: Sent: Friday, September 14, 2007 9:25 AM Subject: Re: [CHAT] PercyOhhhhh...I'm so sorry to hear that Zem. My vet has a three-legged catnamed "Tripod" and I have a friend who also had to do that to theircat. It was an outside cat and it was on the roof and tried to jump fromthegutter of the house to a tree and got it's leg caught in the spacebetweenthe roof and gutter (gutter was in need of repair I would say) andwashanging upside down with a broken leg. Poor baby. But after the amputation, they both get around just fine. Tripod is an awesome cat. Zemuly Sanders wrote: Thanks, you all. I'm sure he'll do fine. The vet called and saidtheleg was not healing properly at the point where the skin had beenbroken. Hesuggested amputation was the best route to follow in this case, sothatiswhat was done. I had to also consider the cost factor, andamputationat$800 was less than half the cost of having the ankle "pinned" andfrozen inplace. In addition pinning was not going to be guaranteed because of thelarge open wound. At any rate, Percy will be fine since he never goes outside anyway. I'm sorry he has been through such an ordeal, and I'm sorry it's costing me so much! We will both adapt, I'm sure. I will pick him up tomorrow afternoon. zem---------------------------------------------------------------------To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT---------------------------------------------------------------------To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT-- Pam Evans Kemp TX zone 8A ------------------------------------------------------------------- -- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT-------------------------------------------------------------------- - To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT Jesse R.
