My mom's cats were like this and the trick was to feed only a little bit several times a day. Worked fine. Regarding the running water, what about one of those pet waterfountain bowls??

Those of you who raise cats might be able to help my sister.  She has taken on a young, declawed (awlful thing to do) cat who gobbles down food and then throws it up.  It will only drink from a running faucet.  She wants to get it to drink from a bowl and be able to eat without being sick.  It has been to the vet and has gotten its shots.

I had a cat that used to do the same thing...and one day she fell in the bubble bath and she came UNGLUED, started clawing all over the place to get out.  I looked like somebody had played tick-tac-toe on me by the time I got out.  Geez.

I picked him up from the vet this afternoon. She suggested I try to

reintroduce him to the colony since he is now "different." You should

seen the look on his face with his blue Elizabethan collar in place. I

Ohhhhh...I'm so sorry to hear that Zem. My vet has a three-legged cat 
named "Tripod" and I have a friend who also had to do that to their

cat.

It was an outside cat and it was on the roof and tried to jump from

the

gutter of the house to a tree and got it's leg caught in the space

between

the roof and gutter (gutter was in need of repair I would say) and

was

hanging upside down with a broken leg. Poor baby. But after the
amputation, they both get around just fine. Tripod is an awesome cat.

I took Percy to have his leg checked today. The vet called and said 
the

leg
was not healing properly at the point where the skin had been

broken. He
suggested amputation was the best route to follow in this case, so 
that

is

what was done. I had to also consider the cost factor, and

amputation

at

$800
was less than half the cost of having the ankle "pinned" and

frozen in

place.
In addition pinning was not going to be guaranteed because of the
large
open
wound. At any rate, Percy will be fine since he never goes outside 
anyway.
I'm sorry he has been through such an ordeal, and I'm sorry it's
costing
me so
much! We will both adapt, I'm sure. I will pick him up tomorrow
afternoon.
