Re: weeds in gravel
Ellen, If the gravel is NOT underlain by roots from a desirable tree, there
are pesticides available that will essentially sterilize the soil for 2-4
growing seasons. Many people don't apply glyphosate when the plant is easily
killed or they don't use enough. In re a propane torch they absolutely do
work. Sometimes the area is clear for four weeks. Driveways and entrance
halls demand and require scheduled maintenance. Glyphosate is the first
agricultural to sell one billion bucks worth, although it has probably been
surpassed. If you want to talk to someone who uses a propane torch for weeds
in paving, call The Worcester County Horticultural Society in Boylston, MA.
They will be a big help, I'm sure.
