Jeff,

The ideas Judith Lowry expresses are easily translatable to any geographic
unit.  Gardeners oriented primarily toward exotic plants are likely to feel
a little cramped by them, but the idea of opening ones eyes to the remaining
traces of the indigenous landscape, recognizing their beauty, and attempting
to reverse some of the damage done by centuries of destruction of the
ecosystem through thoughtless actions and exotic introductions has universal
application.  But I am also sure that anyone who loves a garden will enjoy
the this very personal exploration of the land upon which Judith gardens.

This, from a gardener who cares for several large properties filled with
gaudy exotics that admit a few natives only on their fringes! ;-)
