Re: Gardening profits
I've been canvasing our local nurseries for three months and find that
Margaret's view is right on: Plant sales are on the up BUT not one of the four
big plants in my area of Western North Carolina is selling much of any
hardgoods; chairs, tables, umbrellas, tools, etc., continue to be on sale.
Also, because of an extended drought through much of North and South Carolina,
landscape designers and garden installers are having a hard time. A to garden
columns, the local daily went to using extension agents some five years ago
(Gannet Paper), a continuing problem that most professional agencies (like
GWAA) choose to duck. Extension agents cannot accept money for their work.
