Sheri: Went to your Website and it's very professionally done. Just two
thoughts: 1., edit the list of choices on the left just a bit and 2., I've
had my Website for two years now and have had to day 18,284 hits without
designing my opening paragraphs with key words. I would never think of
charging for the page. It's a bad precident to set. But, I'm old-fashioned.
As for booksignings, you should dress like a professional. I learned a long
time ago from my wife, who is a successful illustrator and painter in her
own right, that the public looks at experts as a wordl apart and if they
come dressed in short shorts, and you do, too, they will immediately pull
you down a couple of pegs from their initial impression. Press kits are a
folder with an article, double-spaced, one side of the paper, etc., with
promo material, business card, etc.
