Without knowing the exact terms of Duane's contracts with Green Prints, my 
guess is that he is correct. He holds the rights to his own piece included 
in the ebook (no matter how it was edited) and that includes its electronic 
rights, unless he signed them away. He should have been asked for his 
permission and been paid if it was appropriate.

However, it seems to me that it would have been better business as well as 
more courteous for Duane to have contacted the editor privately and gotten 
an answer before broadcasting this copyright problem to the list.
