Hello, everyone!

I spent a few days this past week working through the issues caused by having my address list hijacked and thought I'd pass on some info.  My situation was quite mild: I luckily caught it while "they" were in the middle of the hijack and stopped it mid-stream so it was only a partial address book issue -- quite mild in comparison to what I'm told it could have been, but lots of lessons to be learned.

If anyone is interested, there is a great website to browse if not avail yourself of for technical info/advice: bleepingcomputer.com, recommended to me by a friend on my hijacked list.  Also, some malware to consider to upload and keep your computers clean (besides AVG which is highly recommended): malwarebytes, and SUPERantispyware.  BUT, as I have been told, no program will stop everything so vigilance is still the first rule of defense.  Up to now, I had been using Trend and the built in MSN tools (my ISP).

Last item: the discovery process unveiled the source of the my hacking was an on-line coupon site, so those of you who use those sites, be warned.
