Re: Trash - Birds and Blooms
You know who loved Birds & Blooms? My 88 yr old grandmother and now so
does my 8 yr old niece. I think it is a nice, pleasant read for both ends of
the age spectrum. Colorful, big photos. Simple, straight-forward, short
text. They get to enjoy all the good parts of flora and fauna; no articles on
dealing with clay soil, beating back the deer, or avoiding pesticides.
If I was say in a dentist waiting area, I'd grab it over more complex
fare.
It serves its audience. Don't think it will ever satisfy the die-hard
gardener, but that is not its purpose.
Sincerely,
Kathy Jentz
