Re: Echinacea


Thanks everyone. From my own unscientific observations, many of the newer ones just don't have staying power. I talked to Richard Saul at OFA about this and he said ItSaul was extending its trial period to three years before introducing. Several in the Big Sky series and others pull a premium price, so their dying young act is hard for consumers and discourages them from trying new plants.

Mt. Cuba has trialed a bunch of Echinacea, but I don't know how current their data are with so many new ones coming into the trade from multiple breeders. We're in an Echinacea du jour intro cycle now.
