    Why do the judges need to be all in one place to do their job?  I've run 
a literature competition for an arts organization.  Contestants sent their 
entries into a central location, and then all the entries were sent by 
Federal Express to the judges in their own homes or offices.  Instructions 
and scoring sheets to aid in judging were included in the package.  The 
judges could work on the project in their leisure time with a final deadline 
for completing their assessments and getting them back to the competition 
chair.  Since the other expenses were nominal, we were able to pay each judge 
a small honorarium.  It would save a lot of money (for GWAA) and a lot of 
time for the Garden Globe Awards judges if they didn't have to travel to a 
central location.
