[GWL]: Predictions
I've decided that for my first column of 2002 I'm going to
present a selection of predictions for the garden industry that may
tale place in the next few decades.
I'm already having a little fun with this....
Eg:
In the near future home gardeners will be able to propagate hundreds
of their own plants for large scale planting projects by using
simplified "kitchen table tissue culture" kits.
Both specialty and smaller operating nurseries will unfortunately
meet their demise as wholesale growers continue to expand their
inventory and become more adept at growing larger volumes of
difficult species in demand.
Large chain grocery stores will follow the lead of hardware dealers
and add on permanent, year round garden centres with better lighting
and cultural care.
Does anyone else have any predictions for the future?
