I have an assignment to do a story on the grackles. So there is interest.

And I have to agree with you - every change we have made in the garden has brought more - and
more interesting - wildlife. Adding ponds, allowing dead trees to remain in the landscape and
planting more cover for them - it's been fascinating. Even the chicken hawk is a marvel - and I
guess I owe it to him that we haven't been over-run by chickens but maintain a manageable
population.
