Tom: I'm sure you remember me and my 1973 book "The Indoor Water Gardener's
How-to Handbook," as it was one of the first, if not the first, to make
popular the concept of hydroponics. Recently, I walked through an antique
mall and there were Chinese evergreens in fancy glass jars--and water-- that
were there, said the owner, as inspired by my book which she found in an old
