Re: Garden Thugs


One point that has been alluded to, but not specifically spelled out is 
that one region's thug is another's regions treasure.  I saw mondarda in 
a northwestern Massachusetts garden, and commented what a thug it was 
for me in Virginia.  For them it's a bit tricky to grow, certainly not 
invasive.  I kept thinking about that conversation the day I spent 8 
hours pulling out the mondada, sifting the soil to try to get all the 
roots, only to have it return next spring.
