[GWL]: Magazine info
Dear All,
I've been following the ideas of creating a database for the GWL - excellent
idea. I've also checked out some of the sites mentioned as already having
databases. However, I feel a database for us GWL folks needs to be more
detailed than some of these - e.g. including lists of recent articles, maybe
a comment from the editor of what they are and, just as important, what they
are not looking for.
I'm saying this because I've been offered a great story and am looking for a
home for it. It's not really garden-related, but could impact on Florida.
It's about a disease that epidemic that running rampant through the
Caribbean / Latin America at the moment. The thing is, nearly all the crop
/ amenity plants are susceptible, but a resistant variety is available.
These are being grown in a seed garden in Costa Rica - but the investors in
the seed garden want out - it is breaking even but is not profitable.
Essentially they want some publicity to persuade an NGO or such-like to take
over the seed garden and distribute resistant vars.
Can anyone suggest (on or off list) a suitable outlet for this story?
