Most of the hort.net site is actually run out of a mySQL database (the
only exception is the actual list archives themselves, but that will
change sometime before summer).
I'd be happy to work with folks to develop a database schema that would
fulfill everyone's needs.

P.S. It's great having my link collection in a database. I wrote a
script that goes out and checks the links nightly and can remove
dead links, so I don't have to worry about it anymore. :)
