Myth or fact?
Wheat bran kills or deters snails and slugs
What do you think?
Nan - as far as I've always been aware, bran is the ingredient which
'lures' the poor old slug to the metaldehyde in slug bait. Why the slugs
would want to eat bran is a mystery to me - (advertising?) I thought they
liked sweet things, and beer, etc. In any case, bran is one of the main
ingredients of the old-fashioned slug bait we used to buy....it was/is
called Corry's Slug Death. Agh.
