Re: Re: [NAFEX] Nursery Cans & Flower Pots

Hello,

The outside of the can will rust, but the inside has been painted with white,
food grade, paint. It will last a long time. You will need an old "church
key" to put drainage holes in the bottom.

Another thing I use is heavy duty plastic. You simply dig a hole in the
nursery row, line it with heavy plastic, poke some holes for drainage, fill
the hole with good soil, and plant. When I move the plant, all the good soil
goes with it, and it is easy to lift out without disturbing roots and
replant.

In particular I use 1 liter plastic milk bags (in Canada you buy milk in
plastic bags) for starting cuttings, and 20 kilogram (40 pounds) softener
salt bags (thoroughly rinsed) for larger plants

These are great cost savers.

Later,
Tom
