Title: Re: [GWL] What to charge
Sandie, this sounds like a project that would be best billed at
an hourly rate.
Figure out how long you expect the editing to take, how much
money you'd like to make for that amount of time, add 20% or 30%
for the unexpected (which of course will occur) and then set
a flat fee.
If I were you, I'd bill it separately from your writing fee.
Nan
his has possibly been discussed before, humor me if it has.
I'm wondering what to charge per piece for editing and data
checking some articles for a monthly publication. It is not a
famous glossy magazine, so rates must be reasonable.
There will probably only be maybe 2-3 short (500-1000
words) articles to review each month.
I will be writing for the publication along with the "part-time"
editing.
The more input I can get...of actual numbers...the better I can
formulate a proposal.
Please answer off list if this is sensitive information.
Thanks,
Sandie Parrott
