Re: Chitting potatoes


I chitted potatoes even when planting two to three acres of them--but I think that's rare among farmers, because it requires an empty room that's heated enough to keep them from freezing. When you are doing quantity like that, you have to do them in batches and also set up a tiered system built of old snowfence or bench mesh to avoid piling them on each other.
