Re: crediting the gardener (was photo releases)

This is very true, and many times when a garden is photographed, more plants
and design elements are brought in to create a lush look. Garden magazines
sell dreams and ideas, so the photos have to show the best fantasy possible.
I've been part of shoots where we've worked 12 or 13 hours from first light
to dusk, shooting the garden in all sorts of light. And, we've brought in
dozens and dozens of extra plants to fill in blanks. A photographer's eye is
of immense help here, to capture a fantasy that will portray the garden at
its best. I've also painted fences and buildings, brought in statuary and
more to enhance the plantings. Photography is a creative art that require
much work, not just snapping the shutter.
