Re: Question on Book Prospectus

	If it is of any help in understanding, the prospectus was prepared
as per instructions on the publisher's web site. I assumed that was standard
operating procedure... or, it certainly was for them. It is a university
press. Also, my editor is a retired employee of the press, so I assumed all
was the norm. I have not had books published before. Just magazine articles,
etc.

How common is it for publishers to send a proposal around to other authors
before deciding whether to publish or not?  It seems unusual to me, but
perhaps I'm being naive.  Does anyone else have experience with this?
