Re: Question on Book Prospectus

I've worked with 3 different publishers (no university presses), and all have made their own acquisitions decisions based on marketing research and in-house judgement.  The idea of getting reviews on a proposal to help them decide whether or not to acquire the text is somehow disturbing.  Perhaps they don't trust their own judgement?
