Re: Question on Book Prospectus


GWL: Peer reviews are quite common for University Presses--although the 
press usually picks the peers. Remember, such presses are pledged to works 
meant to succeed for quality reasons and are supposed to eschew an entirely 
commercial outlook. Am doing a book right now on gardens of South Carolina, 
and the proposal went to a committee of three for their comments--and in so 
doing found three great gardens I had never heard of. Peter
