RE: [GWL]: new topic/grammar
One of my biggest pet peeves is the word "data," WHICH IS PLURAL. This
means it needs plural verb forms. So you should say:
The data are inconsistent. The data don't prove that at all. These
data are crap! Those over there might be worth something. However,
even in that batch, this datum doesn't look like it is in the same
experiment with the rest.
Another one of my peeves -- criterion/criteria. "Criteria" is plural,
and needs plural verbs. So one would properly say, for example:
1. What are the criteria?
2. What is the best criterion?
