[GWL]: speaking fees

So true. When I first started public speaking, I did it for the blurb
at the beginning, mentioning our nursery, and the fact that we sold
some of the plants I described. I still do not charge my local garden
club (but noticed I have been receiving nicer and nicer gifts) as
they 'gave me my start', and I'm grateful to them for it. Other
groups I have no qualms at all about stating a minimum. That's the
beauty of being your own boss. To charge, or not to charge? You make
the decision. But gas costs money. I always get at least that.
