Re: [GWL]: Lifespan of city trees
I lived in Chicago for twenty years. The people who work for the city to
plant trees and maintain the parks, will not do their jobs. They are
hired to get out the VOTE. I have seen trees planted one year only to
die the next. The city Park Management don't care.. They also have a
history of planting the wrong trees. I have watched them take down a
diseased Elm tree only to be replaced by a newly planted "Elm" again.
I also have NO faith in the city crews to control the Long horned Asian
beetle, you will find them everywhere soon.
