Re: Japanese Beetles

You mentioned that we need to understand the life cycle of this insect. 
 
 
You make a good point. I wonder how many other little critters change their cycle like this one does- to match the temperature.  Depending upon what part of the continent you inhabit, your co-habitors can take one, two or three years to go from egg to adult.  In my part of Ontario it is usually the longest one.
 
I know there are others like the cicada and June bug with multiple cycle years but that's part of their normal rythym. I think the JB is unique. (And if it's not I'm hoping some one on the list can fill me in.)
