Re: Nikon vs Canon
I switched from nikon to canon around 10 years ago. The primary
reason that a lot of photojournalists moved to canon was that their
auto focus was far superior fat the time. So once everyone had canon
systems, it was easy to move into digital by picking up a body. I
just bought my third canon digital body (eos d5) which takes all the
lenses from my film system. I've had good service from all the
cameras shooting about 10,000 frames a year and publish the digital
files up to full page. I've just been trading up as larger file
sizes become affordable and I have all but phased out shooting film
for commercial applicatons. One approach you might consider is buying
used digital camera that is of a slightly out of date vintage, as
lots of pros keep trading up as new technology is available. They are
often available for a lot less than the latest models and have a lot
of life left in them.
Good luck with it.
