Re: bad plant mixes/flower shows


Some nice points coming to the fore- both for hort accuracy (areas of the 
continent taken into account)- and artistic license.
Here's my thought: perhaps one criterion for determining how to view an 
exhibit is to discern its purpose.
If, for example, it is to show off a company's plants or design expertise 
then accuracy should be important.
If, for example, it is to assist a theme, support a charity's "gardening 
fantasy" or some other non-industry related event, then artistic license 
should be granted.
That's not to say you can't have both; but, neither do you.
However you look at it, probably a lot of energy and thought went into the 
creation of the display. I wouldn't want to dismiss such an effort 
summarily.

ps- been there, done that, been "dissed" and very much disliked it.
