Re: question about blogs

I try to blog every couple of days to at least one of the blogs that I
write. Some get left behind until something happens. It doesn't take more than
about 20 minutes to write an entry and upload a photograph, because I keep them
simple and usually short. I graze other blogs and usually from Gardenweb, I
read ones that catch my interest, and sometimes leave a note to the writer.
I keep threatening to use rss feeds to make a blog list to check more
regularly, but that has been on the back burner for a long time.

Mainly I do my blogs in the late afternoon or early evening while dinner
cooks. Housework gets done in fits and starts, but it is mainly under control
unless you are a perfectionist. I also do weekly blogs for a landscape
company, and the Atlanta Examiner, but that is slightly more formal writing.

Magazines?- gardening magazines are in short supply here, and although I
pick a few up, they rarely contain more than one article that keeps my
attention, I use them more to see what people are writing about, than the content.
The exception is at the airport or when I am in England where the choice is
larger.

What do I give up in order to do them? Probably nothing that I can think of.
The tv is usually on with MSNBC/Cnbc or whatever, in the background during
the week, some football station seems to dominate the weekends, courtesy one

My blogs: _www.katesgardenjournal.com_ (http://www.katesgardenjournal.com)
_www.renegadeceliac.blogspot.com_ (http://www.renegadeceliac.blogspot.com)
and
_www.horticulturallychallenged.blogspot.com_
(http://www.horticulturallychallenged.blogspot.com)
These last two will probably migrate from blogger/blogspot when they get a
little more established.

I'm curious how much time the members spend each day or each week
reading blogs.

And if you write a blog, how much time do you spend writing it (in
general)? I know it varies, but if you are reading/writing blogs a
lot, then it must mean you're cutting out something else from your
personal/professional life. What are you cutting out? Reading
magazine articles? Listening to NPR? Washing the dishes?
