I absolutely agree with you on this, Ellen, but I've never texted
before so I just figure I'm not as much a Ms. Happy Thumbs texter as
others are. You can also turn off the spelling feature that likes to
guess at words you're using, if you haven't done that already and find
it annoying. I keep it because its guesses are often correct, and it's
easy to cancel the suggested word if it's not the right one.
It's really interesting to see what others say about this. I had no
idea that the iPod Touch had web capabilities, but then I have a 3rd
generation iPod (close to 5 years old now) that still works as well as
a Nano, so I hadn't even investigated the Touch.
Christopher's points are great; even though I'm a happy iPhone owner,
I have a bit of a geek gene so enjoy learning about techtools in
general and it's good to have information about the various options.
My understanding is that Samsung has an iPhone/Blackberry type phone/
pda but I have only seen ads for it; it's fairly new (I believe), and
when I'm heading for new-to-me technology, I tend towards products
that have been on the market for a little while, such as Blackberry or
iPhone or Palm.
One thing I didn't observe: in Nova Scotia, Rogers offers the fast
fast browser capability (3 G) only in around Halifax. Check with your
provider wherever you live to find out about 3G capability in your
area, if that makes a difference to you. It's not an issue for me
because I know a lot of hotspots around the province where I can hook
to WiFi (and the phone finds them and suggests them if I DON'T know
where one is in an area), but it does make a difference to some. It
really all depends on what you're doing with your PDA, of course.
cheers, jodi
