Re: How garden writers can help each other
Thank you for praising my marketing skills, Catriona, and thank you for
being the first person to post a comment on my book's Amazon site.
To clarify: I did not ask anyone---including yourself---to write a review of
my book unless they had already sent me a glowing email praising it. Then, I
simply suggested that they might want to post it on Amazon. I do not
recommend, nor do I believe it is ethical, to ask one's friends to write
positive reviews for a book's Amazon page, thereby "leaving nothing to
chance."
It distresses me to think that GWL members might visit the page and think,
"yeah, all those five-star reviews came from friends who probably didn't
even read her book."
Incidentally, another good idea is to have your website address on the
book's jacket, under the author bio, so people can contact you.
